A ribbon was cut to open up the newly
renovated Hiwassee College Performing Arts Center on Saturday, with a
music festival following featuring the Raging Rebels, Southbound,
Crackerjax Cloggers, Willie Wate and Emi Sunshine Hamilton, Brittanie
Marie and country music star Aaron Tippin.
As part of the
festivities, a memorial to the late Barbara Arwood, an advocate for
Hiwassee College and the arts in Monroe County, was unveiled.
