MADISONVILLE-Five people were arrested
late Tuesday night after Monroe County Sheriff's Deputies were
alerted to possible drug activity at a home on Rocky Springs Road
just outside of Madisonville.
Deputy C. J. Williams said he and
deputy Brian Millsaps, along with Madisonville Police Officer Scott
Hicks, went to the home at 10 p.m. and knocked on the door, but the
only answer they got was someone staring out of a window.
Williams said he saw several people
through a window moving around in a bedroom, shouting at each other.
Williams said he knocked and identified himself again and this time a
man named Herbert Duncan came to a side door of the house and said
they could come inside, but there wasn't any drug activity in the
But when the officers entered the
house, they were hit by a strong chemical smell. Williams said he
found a camouflage backpack in the back bedroom and inside of it was
a green leafy substance thought to be marijuana, along with syringes,
coffee filters and two snorting straws.

be Morphine Sulfate and corner cut baggie containing suspected
