MADISONVILLE-A familiar face clashed
with the County Commission and county officials during its last
regular monthly meeting.
The Rev. Jim Hutchins spoke at the end
the County Commission and once again blasted the commissioners for
not putting up the Ten Commandments. The commission fears litigation
against the county should they attempt to display the Ten
Commandments in the Courthouse again.
Hutchins said county officials have
attempted to muzzle him and said he has been refused service by the
"It is not a privilege to speak," Hutchins said. "It is a God-given right."
Commission Chairman Wanda Alexander
chided Hutchins for only being negative and told him his five
minutes to speak were up.
He then told Alexander she had used a
minute of his time and Hutchins continued to speak until
commissioners adjourned the meeting.
