SWEETWATER-It's the kind of news an
editor or reporter only dreams of getting-one less government
meeting a month to go to!
But that will be the case starting this
month with Sweetwater Regional Planning Commission.
The Planning Commission will now meet
only once a month instead of twice a month.
Starting Aug. 19, the Planning
Commission will meet at 5 p.m. on the third Monday of the month at
City Hall, combining the workshop and voting meeting all into one
meeting, City Planning and Code Enforcement Officer Scott Wilson
Planners previously met in a workshop
on the second Monday to discuss issues then came back the next Monday
and voted, often taking less than five minutes to handle the voting
"This way we don't have to come back
for a two-minute meeting," Wilson said.
Wilson said planners will get packet
information well ahead of time to be prepared to discuss agenda items
and then be ready to make a decision.
