MADISONVILLE-It was a hodge podge of
business covered by the Madisonville Mayor and Aldermen as they held
their August meeting Monday evening.
Alderman Gus Davis said the town needs
to get moving on installing warning sirens that were donated to the
town by Fort Loudoun Electrical Cooperative last winter.
"The sirens are ready to go," Davis
said. "We just need to figure out where to put them."
Davis said Madisonville had looked at
how Sweetwater set theirs up and discovered having them as high as
possible wasn't the best idea.
"Sound travels in a straight line," Davis said, "so if it's up high, it may not reach the areas it
