A Madisonville man has been
arrested in connection with four different burglaries outside of Tellico Plains on July 5 and
Monroe County Sheriff's Detective Conway Mason said the
burglaries happened on Epperson Road and Old Doc Rogers Road and was solved after one of the
victims saw a truck in his driveway.
Anthony West told Mason he
was coming home to Epperson Road on July 5 and saw a tan Nissan truck in his driveway with a
trailer attached. The woman in the van said she was looking for Povo Road and left, but when West
went into his home, he found his laptop computer was gone.
thought the truck sounded familiar and came to find out it belonged to Daniel West, who he stopped
at an earlier date.
Witnesses in the area placed West in the
neighborhood at the time of the burglaries and was reported to be out of breath and claiming his
truck was stolen. Detective Tonia Norwood later found West with the vehicle, but he made no mention
of it having been stolen.
Norwood did spot some items in the
truck that were later reported stolen from another house on Epperson Road.
Those items belonged to David Richert who said a chain saw, weed eater
and other items were missing from his property.
On July 6,
Justin Earle reported several items stolen from his home, including guns and jewelry. These items
later turned up at a pawn shop and Daniel West was listed as the seller.
West, 25, Meadow Brook Lane, is charged with two counts of aggravated
burglary, two counts of burglary, two counts of theft over $1,000 and theft under
