SWEETWATER-Motorists traveling Old
Highway 68 now have a new bridge to cross.
Work has been completed on the bridge
at Fork Creek Crossing on Old Highway 68 near Sweetwater.
An inspection in the fall of 2012
showed the bridge had a sufficiency rating of 31.5 on a 100-point
scale. Teague said the bridge was approximately 100 years old and
Highway, Inc. Contractors out of
Cookeville, who received the bid to complete the project, began work
in late March to remove and replace the bridge.
