MADISONVILLE-A man who wrecked his Jeep
on Tilley Road stood in some trees watching the scene until a Monroe
County sheriff's deputy spotted him and he took off running,
according to law enforcement officials.
Deputy Tillman Steele said it was just
before 4 p.m. Monday when he saw the Jeep stuck in a ditch line and
he asked Dominick Tricarico, who owns the house next to the ditch
line what had happened.
Tricarico said he'd came home and saw
the Jeep in the ditch with the driver trying to get it started. He
also noticed a swing set in the yard had been destroyed.
Tricarico said he asked the driver what
had happened and how the swing set was destroyed and the driver said
he didn’t know.
While Steele was talking with
Tricarico, the driver was watching from some trees a few yards away.
Tricarico pointed him out and Steele told him stay there, but the
driver turned and went into the woods.
