MADISONVILLE-As is common practice at
this time of year, the Monroe County Commission during its June
meeting passed a continuing budget.
The county government's new fiscal year
began July 1, but commissioners have not settled on a new budget. It
will likely be several weeks before the 2013-2014 fiscal year budget
is hammered out.
The commissioners' move to pass the
containing budget allows the county government to continue to operate
under the budget guidelines and property tax rate it has used the
