A Sweetwater couple was arrested last
week on child abuse and drug charges after officers went to their
home to investigate stolen property.
Sweetwater Drug Agent Marty Kile said
Officer Tommy Jones went to the home of James and Teeza McBride on
Sunset Drive June 6 after being told of the possibility of stolen
property at the house.
Jones and Kyle were given permission to
search the house and while they didn't find any stolen property,
Kyle said they did find 35 one pot meth labs, one of which was
active, four bottles containing acid, plastic tubing, coffee filters,
finished methamphetamine, funnels and other meth components.
Officers also found a .22 caliber
handgun in the kitchen and a 4-year-old child.
Both were arrested and charged with
manufacturing methamphetamine and child abuse/neglect.
