On Thursday, deputies of the Monroe
County Sheriff's Office along with agents from the Tennessee Bureau
of Investigation located and arrested six county residents as part of
an ongoing long-term investigation into the illegal distribution of
schedule II controlled substances, prescription pain pills, in
violation of Title 21, United States Code.
According to a press release from the
Monroe County Sheriff's Office, the suspects arrested had been
recently indicted in federal court in Chattanooga.
This investigation was a cooperative
effort between the TBI, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office and the
United States Attorney's Office in Chattanooga, along with the
assistance of other law enforcement agencies, including the Etowah
All charges at this time relate to the
distribution of and/or the conspiracy to distribute schedule II
prescription narcotics. The investigation is continuing, Monroe
County Sheriff Bill Bivens said.
The suspects arrested will be held in
federal custody and were to make their initial appearance in federal
court in Chattanooga on Friday (June 7).
The following suspects were arrested in
the drug investigation:
Elizabeth "Diane" Hicks aka
Patterson- Shields Branch Road, Tellico Plains.
James "Jamie" Hicks - Shields Branch Road, Tellico Plains.
"Jimmy" Rodger Martin - Church Street, Tellico Plains.
Jonathan "Cody" Queen - Reagan Valley Road, Tellico Plains.
Amanda "Lynette" Adams aka Millsaps - Beaty's Chapel Road, Tellico Plains.
Gladys "Colleen" Olley - Shields Branch Road, Tellico Plains.
