A former Sweetwater resident was killed
in a one-vehicle crash in Bradley County on Monday.
Jeffery Scott Hunt, 46, Deer Trail
address off of Eureka Road, the driver of a white Ford Explorer, was
headed northbound when the vehicle left the roadway, traveled down an
embankment, then struck a tree.
He died at the scene, according to Bob
Gault, media relations coordinator for the Bradley County Sheriff's
Bradley County 911 received reports the
vehicle had caught fire.
Bradley County Fire-Rescue responded to
the scene to control the fire.
BCSO deputy Earl Pike arrived on the
scene and attempted to extricate the man from the burning vehicle. He
was overcome by smoke and flames.
According to reports, he was treated at
the scene by Bradley County Emergency Medical Service paramedics.
