A chance to evaluate the performance of
the Monroe County Director of Schools could be coming to your
The seven-question survey evaluating
Mike Lowry is intended to aid the School Board in their
annual director of school's evaluation and to provide recommendations
for areas that could use improvement.
"It's a very comprehensive analysis," said School Board Chairman Dr. Bob Lovingood. "We'll be able to
make good recommendations to improve our school district."
Surveys were mailed out late last week
to 25 percent of the parents in the school district and to all
faculty and staff.
"We didn't pick and choose," said
Lovingood. "The parents were selected at random."
Lovingood said there has been some
concern about the anonymity of the surveys.
"Each survey has a number on it and
that has caused some people to be concerned that the survey could be
tracked," he said.
Lovingood assures survey recipients
that the numbers are only to safeguard validity.
"We didn't want there to be a chance
of duplicate surveys being sent in and skewing the findings," said
Lovingood. "The numbers will be cut off before the surveys are
tallied. Only the board will look at the surveys."
