The Cora Veal Senior Center has a
new director and is reaching out to the community.
who formerly served as assistant director to the McMinn County Senior Center, was recently voted
in a the new executive director.
Womack has announced the center
will begin a community outreach program into each of the county's four cities. Womack will rotate
visiting each town from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesdays to answer seniors' questions about the variety of
programs and assistance available to them, including questions about Medicare.
The schedule is as follows:
Wednesday of the month-Madisonville at Cora Veal Center.
Wednesday of the month-Sweetwater at City Hall.
Wednesday of the month-Tellico Plains at City Hall.
Monday of the month-Vonore at City Hall.
In addition, there are
a variety of programs and activities at the center in Madisonville, including card games, pool and
shuffle board and more.
Seniors can also call by 10 a.m. each
