VONORE-Come May 15, a new grocery store
will come to Vonore, one with just about everything a shopper could
Joe Holt, who will manage the new Food
City on Highway 411 near the Highway 72 crossing, said the store will
have everything people have come to expect from Food City.
"We'll have a full service deli," he said, "hot pizza, salads, lunch meets, cakes and cookies and a
hot bar. We'll also have full service meat and seafood sections
with a full time butcher on duty."
The store will cover 47,000 square feet
and employ 150 people.
"It will be a mixture of full time
employees and part time workers," Holt said. "We've gotten
applications from and interviewed some very good people in this area.
It's going to be a wonderful place to work."
