SWEETWATER-The Sweetwater Board of
Education will host its first meeting in the school system's new
administration building Monday night at 7 p.m.
Central Office staff began moving into
the new building on Clark Street in February. The construction of the
new building put main school system administrative staff under one
roof instead of scattered all over down in various buildings. It also
freed up space at Sweetwater City all for city officials there.
Director of Schools Dr. Melanie Miller
hopes the school system will be able host an open house for the
public in April at the new building with a date announcement for the
event coming soon.
Renovations are also complete at Brown
Intermediate School, which received a new front office and enclosures
to protect students from the elements as they walk between wings at
The work at Brown was designed to
increase safety and security.
The two projects together cost around $2 million.
