TELLICO PLAINS-A year after the Tellico
Plains tornado, victims recall how the storm changed their lives and how
the small community came together in the aftermath of the disaster.
The unthinkable happens
While picking up her two sons, ages 4
and 12, Sharon Byers joked with her friends about how a tornado was
coming.
"We were just acting crazy," said
Byers.
Byers' sons, however, were terrified.
"I told them it would be OK," she
said. "Stuff like this just doesn't happen here at home. It just
