As it is, auditor Susan Emert said the Water and Sewer
Departments are in good shape and the general fund balance, from which most of the town's budget is
drawn, had more than a million dollars in cash for that fiscal year.
"Also your expenditures were less than budgeted," Emert said, "which is always a good thing.
And the audit came out of fine. There were no issues to be found. The only bad mark was the Gas
Department being $39,000 down, but a mild winter was the main reason for that."
