SWEETWATER-Sweetwater city leaders
expect the former TMI/TMG campus to appear on Knox Heritage's list of
most fragile or endangered buildings in the region when the
organization releases its list for 2013 soon.
Knox Heritage, a group formed in
Knoxville in the 1970s at first to save the Bijiou Theatre, will urge
that the dispute over the ownership of the 144-acre campus be
resolved as soon as possible before the buildings fall in further
disrepair.
The listing may do little to resolve
the dispute, but will at least call attention to the ongoing problem
of the buildings' conditions worsening, including the 104-year-old
main building. See full story in the Wednesday, Feb. 27, edition of The Advocate & Democrat.
