MADISONVILLE-Anybody who came to
Tuesday night's County Commission meeting wanting to see controversy
over the proposed new jail site went away disappointed.
Commissioners put off a vote on
allowing County Mayor Tim Yates to negotiate to buy property until
the March meeting at the mayor's request and due to upcoming state
training on jail issues.
The Monroe County Justice Committee
earlier this month voted to recommend to the County Commission that
land on New Highway 68 in Madisonville be purchased for a new jail. See full story in the Sunday, March 3, edition of The Advocate & Democrat.
