MADISONVILLE-A Madisonville man has
been charged with vehicular homicide after a one-car wreck on
Hiwassee Road killed his passenger.
Madisonville Police Sgt. Adam Russell
said the wreck happened around 11:18 p.m. Wednesday night and he
arrived to find a black vehicle sitting sideways in the road with
major damage. Adams said the car left the road, went into a ditch,
hit a tree and came to a stop back on the road.
The passenger, identified as Raymond
Perlaki, was still in the car, but witnesses said the driver had
jumped out and ran. Russell said he yelled at the fleeing man, but he
wouldn't stop.
Other officers gave chase and Officer
David Wear eventually brought Daniel Ray Loyola, 22, Budd Street,
back to the scene, according to authorities. See full story in the Sunday, Feb. 17, edition of The Advocate & Democrat.
