MADISONVILLE-Madisonville Police Department Patrolman David Wear had a busy Friday night as two routine traffic stops within an hour lead to drug related arrests.

Wear said it was around 10:19 p.m. when he saw a red Chevrolet Blazer with out of date tags. He followed the truck and saw the driver also fail to use a turn signal.

Wear pulled the truck over in the C&R Market parking lot and identified the driver as Roy McBride, 21, Short Bark Road, Madisonville. A check on McBride's license showed it had been suspended.

Wear said he asked if he could search McBride's vehicle and McBride said yes. While doing this, Wear said he found a corner cut baggy with a white substance in it, two used syringes and a spoon with a white powder residue on it.

Wear placed McBride under arrest, charging him with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, driving on a suspended license and several traffic offenses.
