Monroe County Spelling Bee was held recently to determine the county's top spellers. Overall winner was Trinity Stradley, a seventh grader from Madisonville Middle School. 

Top five winners included: second place, Jessica Watson, fifth grade, Madisonville Intermediate; third place, Lexi Lemons, eighth grade, Vonore Middle School; Dana Wilson, fifth grade, Coker Creek School; Jonathan Ervin, fourth grade, Tellico Plains Elementary; Alyssa Matthews, fifth grade, Vonore Elementary.
