Work is progressing well on a nearly
50,000-square-foot Food City store in Vonore, which will provide
about 160 jobs.
The Food City facility will a part of a
shopping center along with the grocery outlet. There will be 8,000
to 10,000 square feet of shopping space, which could also provide
30-40 more jobs. On the far end of the shopping center will be a
Gas-n-Go gas station. The annual estimated sales tax revenue of the
supermarket will be $375,000 and the property tax will be $46,000.
