MADISONVILLE-When republicans decided
to redraw Tennessee districts, Monroe County lost John Duncan Jr.,
its long time congressional representative, but Chuck Fleischmann
said Thursday he's determined to offer the kind of leadership
Duncan was known for.
Fleischmann was in Madisonville for
what he called a "mayor's round table." He said he was going to
all the counties in the third district and meeting with town/city and
county mayors to see what needs they might have he could help with.
"You'll see a lot of us," Fleischmann said. "The new 3rd District is great. Local government
is the best government we have. The mayors know they going to see
their constituents in stores and at church, so they do the best they
can to manage their towns and make sure everything is running
smoothly." See full story in the Sunday, Feb. 3, edition of The Advocate & Democrat.
