PLAINS - The Tellico Plains Bears were looking to get back on a
winning streak Tuesday night as they played host to the Berean
Christian Eagles. The Bears would only have one person in double
figures on the night. The Eagles would have three players in double
figures in the contest.
The
Bears would fall behind early in this one and were never able to get
back in it. The Eagles handed the Bears a 53-41 loss at home. The
Bears would keep it close throughout the first quarter, but would
start falling behind in the second quarter.
By
the half the Bears would trail by 13, 27-14. The Eagles shutdown the
Bears inside game all night long. The third quarter wouldn’t be
much different for the Bears as they struggled to get the ball
inside, which forced the Bears to the outside. The
Eagles would stretch the lead early in the fourth quarter to 18
points. The Bears would try to get back in it, but would not be able
to do so. The Bears fall at home to the Eagles 53-41.
Leading
the way for the Bears was Tyler
Peeler with
12 points, Dakota
Rinehart with
9 points and Robert Vandervort would throw in 8 points. Ryan
Bookout had
6 points, while Dakota
Stone and
Austin
Holcomb both
had 3 Andrew
Mee led
the Eagles with 17 points. Christian Prescott had 12 points, and
David
Graybeal with
10 points. With the loss the Bears fall to 12-7 this year.
