SEQUOYAH - Sequoyah hoped for a different out­come, but Friday’s game against McMinn Central felt all too famil­iar. Elizabeth Massengil scored 28 and Bailey Gray netted 10 to lead the Chargerettes to a 63-42 win.

The game was close after the first quarter of play when Central held just an 18-16 advantage. From the start of the second quarter though, the Lady Chiefs would only score 16 more points by almost the fourth quarter. Savana Atchely dropped 12 points on the night to lead Sequoyah. Hunter Simpson had 10 points, while Danielle Slack netted 6. Josee Weese and Laura Whited each had 3 points, while Emily Ingram had a basket. Chacney Welshan scored 4 points, and Kassidi Freeman scored 2, and had 5 blocks.
