Lady Bears stay on top of 3-A with win

The Lady Bears took the floor Tuesday night in a district matchup vs the Midway Lady Green Waves. The Lady Bears were looking to get their 8th win of the season and to stay on top of the district 3A standings. The Lady Bears would take the lead in this game early and never look back. Tellico earned a nice win by defeating the Lady Green Waves by a final score of 61-46.


The Lady Bears would dominate the first quarter on both offense and defense. The Lady Bears defense would hold the Lady Green Waves to only two first quarter points. Jasmine Harris and McKinley Dalton would lead the Lady Bears to a 12-2 first quarter advantage. In the second quarter the Lady Bears would explode for 24 points. Valerie Cheek and Brittany Kirkland would hit two of the Lady Bears six three pointers on the night in the second frame.


Bailey Hunt would score 8 of her 12 points in the second quarter and come up with some key offensive rebounds. The Lady Bears would take a 21 point lead into the locker room at the half. Midway would make a run in the third quarter off of Lady Bears turnovers and cut the lead down to 11 at one point. The Lady Bears would take a 47-34 lead into the fourth and final quarter.


The Lady Green Waves would cut the lead to 47-36 and early in the fourth quarter. Then Valerie Cheek, Brayden Garren and Jasmine Harris would all hit three pointers to extend the Lady Bears lead to 17 midway through the fourth quarter. The Lady Bears were just too strong on both ends of the court all night long and that prooved to be the difference in the end. The Lady Bears win 61-46.


The Lady Bears would hit 6 three pointers on the night. Offensive rebounds was another key factor in the win for the Lady
