TELLICO PLAINS-A Madisonville man was
arrested Sunday after he allegedly robbed a Tellico Plains business
at gunpoint.
Monroe County Sheriff's Detective
Conway Mason said he spoke with an employee at Mountain View Market
Sunday morning who said a man came in with his hand in his jacket
pocket making it appear as if he had a gun.
The employee said the man demanded
money from the register and she didn’t know if he actually had a
gun in his pocket, she gave him the money from the register.
After some investigation, Mason said he
was led in the direction of Casey Raymond Watson. Watson was found ay
B & B Market on Reliance Road and after speaking with him, Mason
said he believed Watson was the one who had robbed the store, though
it didn't appear he had actually had a gun in his pocket.
Watson was also eventually identified
by the employee as the person who robbed the store.
Watson, Fairview Road, Madisonville, is
charged with aggravated robbery and theft of property. He also has
additional charges of possession of a schedule II narcotic and
possession of a schedule IV narcotic.
