A man and woman were arrested Sunday
after they wrecked their vehicle, then went their separate ways.
Monroe County Sheriff's Deputy Wes
Martin said he went to a home on Rafter Road around 1:20 p.m. and
talked with Denny Howard who said a woman who appeared to be drugged
had shown up at his house.
Martin found the woman, Leah Sue
Shanahan, Cane Creek Mountain Road, hiding on the porch. Shanahan
said a "Mr. Jenkins" was after her in a white vehicle and
she had wrecked her car on Shaw Mountain Road trying to get away.
Martin said Shanahan's eyes were red
and her pupils were small and that she appeared to be hallucinating.
Shanahan admitted she had taken pills and smoked marijuana prior to
wrecking her car. See full story in the Wednesday, Jan. 16, edition of The Advocate & Democrat.
