A Tellico Plains man was arrested early
Sunday morning on drug charges after he was spotted having trouble
keeping his car between the lines, according to police.
Monroe County Sheriff's deputy C. J.
Williams said he was on Highway 68 a little after 4 a.m. when he saw
a dark colored vehicle cross the fog line several times.
Williams stopped the car and found the
driver to be Stephen Saunders, Curtis Road. Saunders said he was
going to see a friend in Sweetwater. Williams said Saunders had
blood-shot eyes and he asked if he could search the vehicle. See full story in the Wednesday, Jan. 9, edition of The Advocate & Democrat.
