SWEETWATER- Jasmine Harris netted 18 points, and Tory McMinn
scored 13 to help lead the Lady Bears to a 65-33 win over the Lady Cats on Friday night.
This
was a close game early on as the score was just 15-10 at the end of the first. Tellico pulled away
in the second quarter when they outscored Sweetwater, 27-7. McKinley Dalton scored nine, while
Brittany Kirkland, Rachel Sutton and Valerie Cheek each had six. Chelsea Davenport, Terzah Miller,
and Makayla Hull all had two points a piece. Braden Garren added a free throw.
For
Sweetwater, that second quarter was too much to overcome. Mandalyn McNabb lead the Sweetwater
Lady Wildcats with 12 points. Raven Jefford added nine points and Tyra Husrt scored six. Rachel
Thomasson had three points and Betsy Mashburn added a basket. Jessica Singer wrapped up the Lady
Cats scoring with a free throw.
Overall, the pressure provided by Tellico was enough to
get the win. The inside game of McMinn really complimented Harris well.
