SEQUOYAH-The Lady Chiefs dominated their game on Tuesday night
to the tune of a 56-24 win. This was a tough defensive game that saw the Lady Jackets of Coalfield
score just 24 points, and they were held to just one point in the second quarter. Coalfield also
never scored more than nine in a quarter. Chancey Welshan led the Lady Chiefs in scoring for the
second time in as many nights with 11 points.
Danielle Slack and Emily Ingram both notched eight
points while Hunter Simpson added seven along with seven steals. Savana Atchley also scored seven,
as the Lady Chiefпї1/2s guards really dominated the game statistically.
Coalfield guards were
mismatched all night with Sequoyah. The Lady Chiefs took a 15-9 lead into the second quarter and
then utterly took the game over, by just allowing Coalfield to score once in that period. The
Lady Chiefs then allowed just 17 points the rest of the way to seal the Lady Jackets fate. Josee
Weese continued the good guard play with four points, and Jessica White added a free throw. As far
as post players go, Laura Whited had six points, Kassidi Freeman had two, as did Suzy Guard.
Coalfield never had a chance in this one. Sequoyah won easily, 56-24.
