The Monroe County Jail Committee did
not meet in December due to a lack of a quorum, but County Mayor Tim
Yates said he wants the committee to start the New Year focused on
making a decision on the best property site for a jail.
Because of over-crowding at the Monroe
County Jail, the county's Jail Committee is under a directive from
the state to meet each month and make progress toward correcting the
problem.
The committee is currently considering
