SWEETWATER-For more than 30 years, the
Needy Family Fund has helped families at Christmas time by
distributing food boxes.
The funds for this program are made
possible by the annual auction, which will be held at 5:30 p.m., Dec.
8 at Sweetwater Primary School, and donations.
This year, the fund members will help
the community once again as 20 Sweetwater area churches will come
together Dec. 21 at Sweetwater Primary to assemble 350 food boxes
with Needy Family Fund volunteers.
They will do so all the while
remembering Tommy Hood, one of the original founding members of the
Needy Family Fund.
Hood passed away suddenly in September,
but the legacy of his commitment to helping others embodies what the
Needy Family Fund is all about.
This Saturday's action will be held in
memory of Hood.
"Tommy Hood will be missed and can
never be replaced by anyone," Fund members said.
