The investigation into the fatal shooting of a Tellico Plains woman on Friday continues, according to the Monroe County Sheriff's Office.

Authorities have released the name of the victim, saying it was 38-year-old Rebecca J. Stratton of Shadden Road, who died when she was shot in the head the day after Thanksgiving

The Monroe County Sheriff's Office began investigating the fatal shooting Friday morning at 325 Towee Falls Road near Tellico Plains. Investigators said the shooting appears to be drug related.

As of early Tuesday, no arrests in the shooting case had been announced.

The Sheriff's Office said the investigation is ongoing and interviews of individuals who may have information are continuing.
