SWEETWATER-The Sweetwater City School
System's building projects are going wide open and speeding toward
the finish line.
"We are really, really close," architect Sam Moser told Sweetwater Board of Education members at the
November board meeting.
Brown Intermediate School is getting a
new office configuration, and the walkways enclosed between the
buildings. A new cooler for the lunchroom is already operational.
A new Central Office building is also
nearing completion next to the junior high. The new administration
building will allow main central office staff to centralize in one
building and will free up Sweetwater City Hall for city officials.
The School Board awarded Rouse
Construction both projects for about just under $2 million.
The target completion dates are early
in 2013 for both projects with the emphasis placed on Brown School
first to make things easier for students and teachers, who have been
dealing with the construction all year albeit in a very positive
manner, Principal David Matlock has said.
