The final preseason tilt for the Chiefs
was a trying one. The Maryville Rebels led early and never let go of
the lead or the rim. Bryan Landers had a couple of high flying dunks
mixed with some controversy as the Rebels won going away 76-54.
Sequoyah's Taylor Hawkins finished
with 14 as did Shon Stevens. They were complemented by Andrew
Millsaps 11 and J.J Harmon's fury of late three's to finish with
9 points.
Brian Landers high flying antics
were on display early in the Chop House. Even the home crowd was
impressed with a few dunks. Clark McCall aided the Rebels first
quarter surge with 14 to push the game seemingly out of reach early.
In the second half, it was all Rebels.
Maryville gave Sequoyah some chances and the Chiefs clawed back to
within eight. Harmon's late threes weren't enough and the
Rebels walked out with a decisive win.
