MADISONVILLE-It has been a year and a
half since Ralph Hunt allegedly killed a man while reportedly in the
process of stealing his car. Now Hunt will spend at least another
four months in jail.
Hunt was scheduled to go on trial
Wednesday in the 2011 killing of Gerald Strickland, but it was called
off after the state couldn't get the medical examiner in court. The
trial was postponed in May after a detective couldn't make it due
to a family illness.
Judge Amy Reedy wasn't happy with the
state, saying they should have called and made sure everybody was on
board instead of sending out subpoenas and hoping everybody got them.
Hunt's attorney asked that his bond
be lowered from $1,253,000 to $250,000, but Reedy denied the request.
