A yard sale will be held at Mt. Vernon Baptist Church, Oct. 13 at 8 a.m. Prepared food and baked goods for sale with a benefit singing at 6 p.m..  Local singers and our own Danette and Katie.  Everyone welcome.

Macedonia Baptist Church in the Rafter Community will hold its monthly singing on Saturday, Oct. 13 at 7 p.m., with The Williamsburg Baptist Church Choir and others to sing that night.

Rafter Friends Church will hold Old Timers Day in the Mountains with special services Sunday, Oct. 14. There will be singing by Heaven's Gates and Evangelist Clifford Debity will be speaker. Services begin at 10 a.m., with lunch at noon. Come dressed in your favorite old time clothes.

Friends Meeting of Ball Play will host its Fifth Annual Fall Festival on Saturday, Oct. 20, from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. There will be entertainment, food, vendors, games for children and door prizes. There will be a General Store with crafts, baked goods and canned food for sale. There will be hot dogs, chili, nachos with cheese, vegetable soup, cotton candy and drinks for sale. Come and enjoy a day of fun with us.
