The Cora Veal Senior Center, a longtime
landmark in Madisonville, is undergoing changes after the resignation
of Director Frances Maxwell, but Carolina Thomas, the chair of the
Board of Directors, said the facility is open while a search for a
new director occurs.
Thomas said, "Intensive efforts are
being made to stabilize activities at the center and to improve and
expand opportunities for the senior citizens of the county. A vacuum
has been left by the resignation of the former director and the board
is working diligently to continue all of the activities which are
ongoing at the center while a thorough search is made for a new
director." See full story in the Wednesday, Oct. 10, edition of The Advocate & Democrat.
