The observance for Sweetwater High
School's Centennial Celebration is nearing its climax with events
planned the next two weekends.
Look for a special section in the Oct.
7 The Advocate & Democrat celebrating the 100-year anniversary.
Friday, Oct. 5--Soccer players, track,
cross country teams and golf members will meet for a reunion at 4:30 p.m. in cafeteria before home match. Please bring any old articles and
photos to share.
Friday, Oct. 12--Football players,
homecoming queens, band members, cheerleaders and managers who were
part of the football program will join together in celebration.
Participants must be admitted and register through the gymnasium to
receive two complimentary tickets and attend the reception and a walk
down memory lane with pictures and a visit with friends. Begin
gathering in the gym at 5 p.m.
Saturday, Oct. 13--Class reunions will
be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at SHS. A Barbecue in the Bowl at a cost
of $6 will be available.
The celebration will culminate with a
musical concert by SHS graduate Doug Richesin. Two shows have
been scheduled for 3:30 p.m. and 7:30 p.m. at Sweetwater Elementary
Auditorium on Broad Street.
