SWEETWATER-The Sweetwater Fire
Department has decided to forego $25,000 worth of repairs to its 75-foot ladder truck.
Fire Commissioner Ed Lee and Fire Chief Doug Watson during Monday's
regular monthly city workshop said they don't believe the 1978 truck is worth spending that much
money on with no guarantees on how long the work will hold up.
They instead would rather see the city word toward a new fire hall, which they think would
help SFD's Insurance Services Organization (ISO) rating more than a repaired 34-year-old
