A Vonore woman was killed around 6 a.m. Tuesday morning when her car collided with a large truck driven by a Tellico Plains man on Highway 72 in Loudon County.

According to a report from the Tennessee Highway Patrol, the driver of a Mercury, Michelle L. Gross, 60, of Vonore, was killed in the crash.

The driver of the truck, Michael R. Matheny, 63, of Tellico Plains, was injured. 

Investigators said Gross was going west on Highway 72 when it crossed into the truck's lane. Both drivers were wearing seatbelts. THP said no charges have been filed.
