Trying to jump hurdles to growth

NIOTA-Sweetwater Mayor Doyle Lowe is seeking a partnership with the Sweetwater Utilities Board to foster economic growth for Sweetwater.

During the joint City Commission and SUB annual meeting held in Niota last week, Lowe suggested the city and SUB pool funds to pay for infrastructure upgrades.

Lowe said the city has been working to get funds to spur develop along the northbound lane of Interstate 75.

"That would open up an industrial park," Lowe said.
