The Sweetwater Wildcats are coming off
a tough loss to Polk County. The Loudon Redskins are entering this
week with an equally deflating loss after a 56-34 beat down courtesy
of C.A.K. Both of these teams would love nothing more than to get
back into the win column, but this will not be an easy contest.
Loudon has proven it can score at
times. The Redskins were shut out against Alcoa, but scored 42 points
when they played McMinn Central. Last week they put up 34, but when
playing a Christian Academy of Knoxville defense, that is the norm.
Can Sweetwater's defense continue their dominance? The
Wildcats have only given up 20 points twice this year. In two other
games they held their opponents to under 10 points. The defense needs
to have another great game for the Wildcats to steal one.
Offensively the Wildcats played well in
a hostile eviornment in Benton. The game came right down to the wire,
and even though the Wildcats lost, there are some positives to take
away. Playing in tough games early, win or lose, can prepare you for
adversity throughout the year.
Here is what the Wildcats need to do on
Friday:
| Protect the football. It's always
hard to win on the road. No need in making it more difficult with
turnovers. |
|
| Nick Wicker and Andrew Barr, and
Eli Arwood will need to be on their game as the Loudon defense will
be ready for Jordan McGaughey. |
| Pressure the quarterback and get
into Loudon's head early. Elijah Blomstrom grabbing a sack early
will silence a rowdy Redskin crowd. |
