SWEETWATER-The 2011-2012 fiscal year
has closed with Sweetwater's budget looking the best it has in years.
According to a financial report
prepared by City Recorder Jessica Morgan, the city has put back more
than a half a million dollars into its general fund.
The report said the city had $528,322
left over this past budget year after the bills were paid.
Most of that extra money can be
attributed to the half-cent sales tax increase that city voters put
into effect Aug. 1 last year. The sales tax hike brought in $451,976
alone. See full story in the Wednesday, July 25, edition of The Advocate & Democrat.
