An increasingly popular and anticipated
shopping weekend is quickly approaching, as parents gear up to do
back-to-school shopping.
"Early shopping with tax free savings
reduces everyone's stress for that first day of school," said
Sweetwater City Director of Schools Melanie Miller.
The Tennessee Department of Revenue has
announced that this year's sales tax holiday is scheduled for the
first weekend next month, August 3-5, which will allow parents to get
in last minute shopping before the first day of school on August 9.
During the entire weekend, Tennessee shoppers can enjoy tax-free
purchases on certain clothing, school and art supplies and computers. See full story in the Sunday, July 15, edition of The Advocate & Democrat.
