Sweetwater approves alert system

SWEETWATER-It appears the City of Sweetwater will have a storm alert warning system in the near future.

During Monday night's July meeting, Commissioners Julian Walton, Sam Moser, Ed Lee, Billy "Buster" West and Bill Stockton gave approval to Mayor Doyle Lowe's request to enter into a contract with Delta Alert.

However, commissioners gave permission contingent upon clarification and changing of some wording in the contract with Delta Alert.

A representative from Delta Alert during last week's workshop had promised to give the city its money back if they did not like the $2,950 a year system.
