Anna Thompson Stephens departed this life Saturday, Sept. 21, 2013 at Sweetwater Nursing Center. Anna was a retired bookkeeper and home maker who was devoted to her family. She was of the Baptist faith.
She was 80.
Preceded in death by: her husband of 57 years, Lemuel Stephens; parents, Brad and Easter Thompson and brothers, Charles and Clyde Thompson.
Survivors include: her son, Marvin Stephens and his lady Karen Harrell;
Daughter-in-law, Susan Stephens, who did so much to care for Anna through the years;
Granddaughter, Caitlin Stephens, with whom she had such a wonderful, loving relationship;
Sisters, Louise Borden and Wilma Thompson;
Sisters-in-law, Margaret Thompson and Jo Webb.
The family would like to express their heartfelt appreciation to everyone at Sweetwater Nursing Center for the excellent care they gave Anna these past months. They treated her not only with great professional skill, but also with respect, compassion and love. The kindness they showed the entire family cannot be equaled. Also, Jack Wilson, Faye Green and Susan Roberts and Sweetwater Flower Shop for all their support these last few months. Her granddaughter would also like to thank her dear friend, Mark Richmond, for all the help, love, and support he has given her during these past few months.
Receiving friends Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2013, from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Kyker Funeral Homes, Sweetwater, with the funeral service to follow at 7 p.m. in Kyker's Chapel with Rev.
